Jewel Brass Embellishment {With Golden Victorian Frame}

I have been keeping these brass pieces for almost two years now. I bought them at Brimfield Flea Market in Massachusettes {here}. I remember the seller had so many of them in her booth. She said these were used to make jewelry and the big factory near by  has long a go closed. At the time I knew these pieces will be a wall decor but did not know exactly how am I going to execute them to make it into a wall decor.

A while a go I found this golden victorian frame in Goodwill for USD 10.00. I am into this kind of frame lately and always on the look out for one. Here in Florida you can get this frame for little money.  It has been sitting in my closet for almost a year now.

So finally I was able to create this one of a kind wall decor and I love it! I still have more of these brass pieces and I am going to frame them when I found the right frame for them.

The tutorial.

What you need;
~ A frame
~ Linen textile {I bought mine at Calico Corner} I am sure any fabric store carries this type of linen.
~ Brass pieces embellishments
~ Golden thread
~ Sewing needle
~ Cardboard {cut exactly to fit the frame}
~ Glue gun

1. First cut the linen textile fit to cover the card board and leave 2 or 3 " extra to fold in.
2. Arrange your brass pieces on the linen textile. Once you are happy with the placement of the brass pieces; using sharpie mark a tiny dot  behind top first brass piece you are going to attach. {Remember the dot must be behind the brass piece so it won't show when the piece finally sewn in onto the linen textile.} Start with the piece on the very top of the arrangement and work all the way down.
3. With your left hand holding the brass piece, sew the 2 or 3 corners of the brass piece onto the linen cloth. {Please see the arrow on the above picture.}
4. Repeat this with all  brass pieces. You might need to sew only 2 or 3 corners.
5. Once all brass pieces attached; put on top of card board and center.
6. Carefully place the board with the brass pieces on the linen center in the frame.

7. With art work facing down on the frame; pull one side {not too tight} and using glue gun glue the cloth to the card board.
8. Repeat the above on the opposite side. Again, repeat the top  and bottom. Finally  glue all extra linen cloth onto the card board to make the backing look neat.

That's all there is to it.

Thank you for stopping by !
