Open Heart Sandwich {with Flower Petals} + Home Made Place Mat

Have you ever feel like this; when you woke up feel like having a breakfast but none is good for your appetite?  Well today I felt just like that. It was almost lunch time anyway! So with what ever I still have in the fridge I created these delicious pretty meal for lunch, oh...for brunch! Usually I do not eat a lot for lunch so a couple of these just did good for a hungry stomach. And it was a complete lunch meal with a cup of hot tea.

This is actually an oat nut bread that I cut using a heart shape cutter. Then spread some fig jam followed by sprinkle of edible flower petals on  top. The white spread is petal flowers cream cheese spread. And oh...it was so delicious. Recipe; here! I think these open heart sandwiches are good for a fun tea party with friends. I can already imagined these heart sandwiches being displayed on a pretty cake stand with lots of flower petals.

I am very happy how the place mat that I created turned out to be. It's fun and pretty. Tutorial; here!

There is nothing new about eating flowers. It can be traced back thousand years a go. If you are interested in learning about the history of eating flowers, you can find out {here}.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Happy Wednesday Everyone!
