Seductive Black & White Gold Accent {Inspiration Board}

There is something alluring and seductive about black and white color combination especially in photograph. Sometime we do not need much color to see beauty. This board represent the elegance of black and white.  Then I added a touch of gold to accent and brighten the black and white theme a little.

Perhaps by now you already know that I really love creating inspiration or mood board. It reminded me so much when I was a student at Fashion Institute of Technology New York. Right now I am dreaming of having my own work space/studio/home office. I am imagining that I will have a group of mood boards like this one on the wall right on top of my desk. I will also have a sewing station, and in the corner where I can paint all in one room just for me. Tonight Steven already said; once we moved into our new home and you are having your own working room I will have to drag you out of the house!" It's true; I love working on a craft project without anyone disturbing me at home. I need your prayer so that this house selling is going smoothly. So far is going on a full swing but it is in the process and anything can happen a long the way.

I got those gold brass decorative pieces from a Brimfield flea market up in Massachusettes. I created a wall art out these pieces a while a go and I really love it. {here}

This is another flower crown that I created out of a vintage millinery flowers I got from Ebay.  Sometimes I created too many things that I do not know what to do with them. What do you do with craft project that you created and after posted them in your blog?

Thank you so much for reading!

By the Beach in Pink {Inspiration Board}

I must say that I enjoy creating mood/inspiration board very much. I hope you don't get bored with the inspiration theme once more time.

I have many exciting projects I am going to show you in the future but I am not quite ready so this is just an instant project I created this morning and I want to share it with you.

I love collecting pretty pictures from magazines; it can be a fashion, home decor or cooking.

Today's theme is 'by the beach in pink.' One of my favorite outfit by the beach is colorful floral outfit. I love flowy, soft long dress. I remember in the past when we are going to Puerto Rico each year, I always created a home made necklace and bracelet made out of embroidery threads and beads. I think what I am trying to say is my favorite beach resort look is an elegant hippie chic. You know, lots of colorful bracelets made out of rope, threads and beads.

As you can see I also love sea glass bottles. And of course; sea shells.

Do you see the beaded push pins {last seen here]? I love making those. I bought more buttons yesterday and this afternoon for 25 buttons (small, medium and large sizes) that comes in a small plastic container and is only for USD 1.50 per container at Michaels. In the future I am going to get more vintage frames so I do not have to create a mood/inspiration board in the same frame all the time.

I wanted to share with you that I found how to make black and white picture with a portion of color on it through Picmonkey. The first picture on top left is the original picture, and I made into black and white with some color here and there {top right}. The one on below left I only put color on the flower, the pom pom ribbon and on the ocean while the one on below right I only put color on the flowers. Which one do you like best?

Here is another two pictures that I only put color on the flowers and on bottles {on the left} and on bracelet {on the right}. I think they both look quite lovely!

Thank you so much for looking! Have a great day Everyone!

Fun Summer Jewelries by Ellya

Once again I was inspired by Anthropologie {here} to create these super fun jewelries. What I like most about these jewelries is that it is playful, colorful and fun for summer to wear by the beach or just going out to an informal occasion.

I love Anthropologie for it's style of modern boho, hippie,casual elegant chic. I love the feminine look of colorful beads and embroidery on an outfit or as an accessories.

I am imagining strolling a long a breezy summer afternoon wearing a flowy maxy dress with these accessories. I am now making that perfect maxy skirt for myself as I  could not find any that suit my style.

These jewelries are available at my Etsy store {here}

Home Made BEADED PUSH PINS Inspired by Anthropologie {DIY}

A while a go I spotted these cutest pin boards I ever seen on the internet at Anthropologie {here}. I immediately drawn to it and inspired by it. Right away when saw it on my computer monitor for the first time; I just knew  the step by step on how to create them in my head.

I never really thought much about it until a few days a go. I had all the materials with me so why not give it a try. And I went back to Anthropologie website {here} I could not find  the pin boards anymore. I think they were sold out. I was thrilled on how fast and easy creating these little pretty things were. And they are very pretty too.

At the same time I brought over to New York an antique frame I bought in Delray Florida. I took the old picture out {because I wanted only the frame for my inspiration board}. I covered a foam board with muslin fabric and inserted onto the frame. Now I have a beautiful inspiration board!

I knew exactly what to pin on the board and with these little pretty beaded pin boards I made; my inspiration board will looks stunning.

Inspired by the new Great Gatsby movie; I gathered these tear sheets pictures from Vogue magazine to create 'a mix of vintage and modern flapper fashion.' And I love the look of this board so much that I display it in my living room.

Here they are and please tell me what do you think! Tutorial of these beaded pin boards {here}

Do you see how pretty those beaded push pins are? I think so. I think they are much better to display for a pretty board like this one rather than using regular office push pins.

I love flapper fashion. Particularly these dresses and  the accessories. The color is muted greyish, silvery pink and purple. I love these color very much. The kind that aged and dusty over period of time. I think I would love to have an interior color based on this inspiration board and all colors on it. Right now I can only imagine and dream until whenever it is we are moving into our new home.

This is the board final resting. I really do not have  space or wall for this board. So I put it on top of our 'hope chest' with other vignettes. Although I do not like the painting I did { a long time a go}  behind it {well not together with this pretty board} I think she is okay sitting pretty over there for now.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and
have a lovely week-end Everyone!

Pink Blush {Mood Board}

I always love creating a mood board since I was in school many years ago.  I love beautiful texture, patterns and shapes.  As a student of Fabric Styling I was trained to create a mood and theme, such as "romantic" or "art," and to show a certain era such as 1920's "Flapper" or "Native American," to name a few.

I am no longer in school but I still enjoy creating a mood board.  It reminds me of the days when I was a student.

This "Pink Blush" mood board created by using many of my vintage collection. Water color painting added a soft touch to the overall feeling of the mood board.

Have a nice week-end Everyone, and thank you for looking !
