Mini Bundt Apple Spice Cake

This Apple Spice Cake is really moist and filled with spice to sooth your palate while relaxing during  fall afternoon or morning. It has a perfect balance of apple and spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger.  From the start of baking  until your first bite, this cake will satisfy your craving for a cake. How can I tell? I already had two today; one this morning and another one this afternoon.

Okay, before into the recipe; let's see the pictures!

Welcoming Fall {With Flowers and Fruits}

There is something about flowers and fruits or berries arrangements that made me smile and happy. It is sweet, pretty and elegant at the same time. So to welcome this fall I combined flowers,  apples, and pears to create an arrangement. When I was arranging the flowers; I had an immediate obstacle that I need a large bowl or vase with large opening  to put the fruits in.  I just have a perfect large bowl for it but it is now has mini pumpkins in it as my fall decoration is on display. So I guess I am going to use it sometime in the future.

So I arrange the fruits separately and amongst the fruits I tucked this berry like flowers {Sorry, I do not know the name of these flowers. Do you know what they are?}.

I wanted the flower arrangements in this silver chocolate pot that I bought recently at a thrift store in Florida. I love the silver chocolate pot so much and I knew when saw it the first time that I was going to put flowers in it.

I also bought a wooden tray from a thrift store next to the store where I bought the silver chocolate pot. It has painted decorative flowers motifs on it. And I knew that I have to  spray paint with gold all over it which I did and was very easy to do.

I love early fall very much when the leaves start to change colors and they are falling down to the ground. I see there are so many different kind of apples in the store as apples are in season. Do you know that there are 7.500 varieties of apples all over the world. And in New York there are 19 most popular varieties of apples. My favorite is Honey Crisp. What kind is your favorite apple?

Yesterday the wind was very strong and you can feel that fall is definitely arriving when the winds blows strongly and creates a swirl of leaves on the ground. The weather temperature is cool and in a month or so it will get cold here in New York.

Meantime I want to share with you the Flowers and Fruits arrangement.

I hope you are having a great week so far.
And thank you so much for stopping by!

Easy Fall Decor

I have seen many beautiful Mantel Fall Decor on people's blog lately. I wish I had a mantel to decorate, but I don't. And with limited space in my home; I managed to decorate a fall decoration in the small corner of my home.

I was driving when saw a huge nursery with a sign says "Fall Festival". I stopped and bought a few mini pumpkins. When I arrived home I did not know what to do with the mini pumpkins and for a few days they were just laying around in the kitchen. Then I saw an old golden frame laying on the floor;I picked it up and make a chalk board out of it. Saw some fallen leaves on my front deck out in the patio but it dried very quickly so I cut a few leaves from a fake fall leaves branches bought from Michaels and tied them together to hang on the board. Since I was going to put the real falling leaves to begin with I just drew 'the falling leaves......" on the chalk board. It reminded me to an old song.Do you know which song I meant?

Here are what I did with those pumpkins and the falling leaves chalk board that are now sitting on the hope chest in our living room.

 I tied each pumpkins with a vintage lace trimmings. But the one I really like is the one tied with a dark blue velvet ribbon. I wish I had them in different color. I think it is pretty on a white pumpkin.

Thank you so much for visiting me!

Camera Ready {Linda, Coco and Chanel}

While in Delray Florida, our friend "Linda Powers' was kind enough to be a model as I am learning more about photography.  Linda is my friend since many years a go when she was living in New York. Now Linda own a  high end vintage clothing boutique in Boca Raton, Florida.

As I am more and more enjoy taking pictures  (started out with taking pictures of vignettes and food for my blog postS); now I found that I also enjoy taking pictures of people. And for sure I need to learn more about this. But I am learning as I go while taking pictures of anyone or anything as part of practicing what I have known so far. And for sure I need to enroll myself  more in photography courses in the future.

Thank you so much for looking!

Black Bow Sandals and Black Bow Hair Clip {Tutorials}

Look how cute these bow showing on the pages of magazines are? These are from Lucky and Marie Claire magazines September 2013 edition. When flipping the pages and saw these, I can not help but to create one for myself.
To see a complete look; here.

Here is the tutorials.
What you need.
~ Fabrics of your choice. Mine is tafetta.
~ Fabric marker
~ Hair clip bought from Target
~ Sewing needle
~ Scissor
~ Ruler
~ Black thread
~ Sewing machine (not shown on picture)
~ Glue gun (not shown on picture)

1. Draw 2 rectangular (to fit your hair clip) on folded fabric.
2. Using sewing machine, sew the 3 parts of the both rectangular pieces
3. Cut on the outer edge of stitches to make two rectangular pieces
4. Using bamboo skewer push one end and turn inside out

1. Now you ended up with two rectangular pieces
2. Folded in the unstitch side and sew it in
3. Now you have two finished rectangular pieces
4. Using sewing needle and by hand sew a basting stitch in the middle, do not secure and PULL the string to create a gather.

1. Now you have two pieces of half finished bows.
2. Create and sew 1/4" wide of a long piece. Just like on the picture.
3. Put the two bows overlapping each other. One slightly higher than the one in the back. Tie it with the long piece sewn material.
4. Cut the extra long piece in the back.  Now you have pretty double bows.

1. Using glue gun, glue the bows in the center on the hair clip
2. Now you are done and you have created 'a bow hair clip!'

~~~oo00oo~~~
Before you start; make sure the bow is the right size for the shoes and on sits on the top of your feet.
I am sorry I have not to taken pictures while doing this. But this is very easy to create. I am drawing step by step  diagrams for the bottom part of the bow and the top part is similar tutorial as above except you are only using one bow.
Tutorial.
Fist, folded the material to create a rectangular shape to fit the horizontal length of the bow.
Then using a sewing machine, sew the two sides showing as white lines.
Then cut diagonally from bottom right corner to slightly up to top left. Then sew the edge as shown as white lines. Cut the extra triangular bottom part as you no longer need it. Repeat the whole process again so you will have two pieces of the exact same one.
Join them together as shown on below picture bye sew them straight and horizontally on the blue line.
Using glue gun, attach the bow to the bottom part you just created. Now you have one bow. Create another exact one for the other sandal.
Here are the 'before' and 'after' pictures.
Thank you for stopping by!
