Dainty Water Color Flowers Practiced

This morning I practiced my water color flowers technique.  This year I am hoping that I will get into water color more and enroll myself to a water color flower class.  But these simple images were painted hands free. And I love when it is freely without any trace of pencil and I like it when I just use my imagination to create the shape of leaves, flower bud, flower petals, etc. I found it painting with water color is very soothing and I enjoy it so much.

So do you know what I am planning to do with these parts of bouquet of flowers? You will see it in a few days as to what they will becoming into.

I posted about my water color art before and you can see them here, and here. These butterflies I painted using acrylics, here.

These water colors medium is not the best one. They are the cheapest and I use it to practice. The colors are not as vibrant as the good brand of water color like Holbein, etc.  If I am using it to display I will use the good brand of water color. The colors are much more beautiful.

You can learn on how to paint flowers on youtube, here and here. And you can check out my first youtube water color tutorial on how to paint a sun flower; here. I know it is not perfect and my skill was not like what I wanted to be as it was the beginning of my water color art. But I am happy I did and post it on youtube.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
And have a wonderful week end!

Sweet & Lovely Water Color Perfume

I have been enjoying painting using water color lately. And not until I got this lovely perfume as a present from my husband 'Steven' that painting a bottle of perfume came into my mind.

I love how the painting turned out to be and I think it would be lovely to display  sitting amongst lipsticks and pretty make up items on a pretty make up table.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Painted Spring {With Easter Eggs & Flowers}

I had so much fun painting these eggs with water color for the past few days. I love how water color creates delicate and flowy images and I thought what could be a better object to paint on then an eggs. They look very pretty, feminine and a symbol of welcoming spring time. The hardest part is to empty the eggs. I found  how to empty and blow eggs through Youtube {here}. At first I was a little uneasy about doing it. Blowing raw eggs with your mouth is not something I wanted to do. But I was determined to paint these eggs and I must empty them first,  so I did it! And it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Once you get the hang of it; it was easy as one two three. I only broke one egg!

Once I emptied the eggs I put them in the oven over 200 deg. for about 45 minutes. Then I primed the eggs with white color craft acrylic paint bought at Michaels for only USD 0.69/bottle. The prime coat  is for the water color to absorb the surface of the eggs when paint on. My water color set is Sennelier.

I love fresh flowers very much. And I also love photograph them. So here are my painted Easter Eggs with flowers ! And forgive me if I posted too many pictures of these painted  eggs.

Thank you for looking !

The Butterflies Series

I recently into painting 'butterfly' again. It reminds me to my childhood when my sister, brothers and I used to catch butterflies using a net attached to a wooden handle that our father made for us around our rubber plantation home in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Oh, what a sweet memories it was !

I happened to collect a few vintage brooch/pins butterfly from a few years ago
Aren't they lovely !! Stay tune !!
